For stone there’s a need to have sharp chisels, but you don’t need them nearly as sharp as you need your wood carving knives.
For this, the “Chipping Away Ultimate Power Honer” is quite impressive. It’s quite fairly priced at $242.95, fair considering that for me to buy all the metal parts myself would run more than half that amount, and that doesn’t include the specially shaped tool profile wheel or the flat honing wheel.
I don’t know if this will really get my tools as sharp as they possibly can be, but it LOOKS like it’s a completely valid way to sharpen. I’ll see about making space in my shop for it, and start saving up.
