Jammin’

I spent the day with my mother today, which meant a lot of walking the boys to and from camp, preschool, daycare, and naps, and in between browsing the local farmers market. It was there that I spied these massive berries — Williamettes, I was told — that were tasty and cheap. Since that morning I’d been complaining about how my favorite raspberry jam had HFCS in it and I couldn’t eat it anymore, my task was clear.

I bought the berries, and stopped by Thrifty for pectin, jars and sugar, and at 10pm this evening finally started jamming. Lucky for me, the berry jam process is pretty zippy, and by 11 I had five jars of Willamette Raspberry Jam setting up. They need to sit overnight to be sure the seal is good, but I’m pret sure I’ll be have jam on my toast in the morning.
